My wife was gone this week so I had to do the cooking myself. However, when I’m left alone I tend to just opt for not eating instead of cooking something. This time was (somewhat) different.

I got a bread recipe earlier this year off of YouTube and have made it at least 20 times thus far. The only problem is that it takes 24hrs to rise.

But there is this idea that is stuck in the back of my head. Internally I credit this idea to Sam from Lord of the Rings, however I’m not sure that is actually the true source. Regardless; flatbread.

Take a few handfuls1 of flour, a dash of salt1, maybe some onions and garlic powder, then cover it with water, or however much it takes to make the flour into dough consistency. Throw that in the oven for 30min at 420F and you’ve got a nice meal!

Yes technically it’s not the most nutritious meal, but it does taste good and it fills you up. I think my life is notably better for knowing how to make easy bread.
